FTimes-STT Report, January 13

A man was killed when he was attacked allegedly by his brother with a weapon at West-Pasila in Helsinki on Sunday. The victim was in his 30s, said the police.

The police suspected the victim's half brother, a 37-year old man, for committing the crime.

Police later caught the suspect in the staircase of the building.

A neighbour had heard noise emanating from the apartment and a man wailing and calling for help at 9am in the morning.

Police detective Kari Martikainen said the suspect, in the initial interrogation, had admitted hitting the man with a weapon.

Police investigations have also established that the suspect was not drunk while committing the act.
