A Finnish couple was arrested in Australia under suspicion that they had been involved with money laundering and drug trafficking.
 
Australian newspaper Herald Sun reported that a 35-year old man and his 31-year old wife were found in possession of about €650,000.
 
Australian police believe that the couple are part a big international drug cartel. The couple was picked up after they arrived in Melbourne.
 
Another 31-year old Hong Kong national was also apprehended in connection with the alleged crimes.
 
National flag carrier Finnair confirmed STT through its communication department that one of its employees has been detained in Australia.
 
The company, however, did not confirm whether the man was a pilot or not.
 
The news was first reported by Finnish tabloid Ilta-Sanomat.
