Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja has said that unrest in Ukrainian Crimea is not instigated by any government.

Responding to a question by Anni Sinnemäki during parliamentary question session, Tuomioja pointed out that there is no indication that a responsible state would drive a situation that would escalate to armed conflict.

Sinnemäki had asked for clarification if there is a risk that Russia would be involved in armed conflict in the region.

At the same time Tuomioja pointed out that there is a possibility that operators who are not necessary state actors might be involved in crisis.
