Osmo Polvinen, a veteran politician and a former Vasemmistoliito (Left Alliance) legislator, is the new chairman of the board.
Former board chairman Ari Korhonen (Perussuomalaiset), who initiated the motion, was also named in the new board.
Suomen Keskusta (Centre Party) and Perussuomalaiset (Finns Party) changed one representative each from the board.
The council also decided to retain the mayor of Sotkamo, Petri Kauppinen, who will continue in his role.
The council reached the unanimous decision after complaints were raised against the mayor and the previous board, regarding lack of preparation.
