Antti Lindtman ,the vice chair of Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue (Social Democratic Party), the second largest component of the alliance government, on Sunday raised question to the remarks made by the opposition Suomen Keskusta (Centre Party) chief Juha Sipilä on reorganisation of the business model.

Lindtman criticised the Keskusta chairman for his demand for tougher savings, which according to Lindtman was an impediment to growth.

"Sipilä has proposed 8 billion euros in cuts. He has in the past informed that he wants to undertake tough austerity measures already this year. This will congeal the burgeoning growth," warned Lindtman

According to Lindtman, the biggest threat to welfare state was not the sustainability gap, but "renovator-Sipilä."

"Sipilä has announced that taxation should no longer be touched." said Lindtman, raising question on whether the Centre Party was not ready to increase solidarity tax for the rich and high-income earners as a sense of responsibility.

However, Centre Party lawmaker Antti Kaikkonen refuted the allegations by the SDP leader, saying Lindtman’s comments were off the mark.

Kaikkonen reminded that state annual debt of 7-8 billion euro and the framework for the cuts and tax increases were results of the direct failure of government policy in employment and economy.

According to Kaikkonen, Sipilä's proposal of sale of state-owned assets was related to the bigger role the state has to play in employment and improving economy.
