The Sunday’s plane crash in Jämijärvi was probably caused by an up and down movement of the aircraft as a result of control problems, said the Safety Investigation Authority (SIA).

Eight of the 10 parachuters on board the small passenger plane were killed in the crash in Satakunta region of southwest Finland.

SIA experts after preliminary inquiry observed that the plane's nose suddenly dropped and it lost its manoeuvrability.

According to SIA, a wing of the plane seems to have broken in the air but not detached from the aircraft.

The safety authority is also analysing video data obtained from witnesses.

The accident survivors jumped out of the plane through the front door. According to SIA, getting out of the aircraft was very difficult, even though the distance to the door was short.

The last person to get out of the plane jumped out when the plane was flying so low as to prompt the parachute to open instantly.

The investigation into the crash continues.
