A young man was slain by an armed miscreant in Köökarinpolku area of Helsinki on Wednesday afternoon.
 
Police said the incident took place at about 3.00 pm when a couple was walking in the locality. A 25-year-old man arrived at the scene by a car and shot the husband dead.
 
The victim was 23, said police. 
 
Arto Karalahti, the head of investigation told STT that the suspected killer, well-known to the couple, opened fire by a revolver and fled the scene by the car.
 
Police chased the car and nabbed the suspected killer within 10 minutes of the murder.
 
While trying to escape arrest, the accused met accidents with three separate cars in between Itäväylä Road and Kehä (Ring) 1 Road.
 
No one, however, was injured critically in the accidents, said police, adding that investigation was going on in connection with the killing.
