The Arctic Advisory Board will visit Tromsø, Norway, on 6-7 May to explore and assess opportunities for Arctic region cooperation between Finland and Norway Government Communications Department.
 
Particular attention will be given to issues concerning labour mobility, business opportunities, transport connections, international cooperation and environmental cooperation, said a press release of the Finnish Government Communications Department on Tuesday.
 
During its visit, the Advisory Board will also attend a Finnish-Norwegian partnership seminar.
 
The Norwegian oil and gas sector, maritime industry and construction business provide extensive opportunities for Finnish companies and workers, according to the release.
 
The mandate of the Arctic Advisory Board is to monitor and coordinate Finland's activities in the Arctic and the implementation of Finland's Strategy for the Arctic Region adopted by the Government on 23 August, 2013.  
 
The advisory board is chaired by State Secretary Olli-Pekka Heinonen from the Prime Minister's Office and its mandate will run until 31 October, 2016, the release says.
