A court on Monday sentenced a man to 11 years in jail on charge of killing his ex-wife, court sources said.
The Kymenlaakso District Court convicted the man hailed from Hamina declaring that according to psychiatric assessment the man was in the right state of mind while committing the act.
The incident took place in Hamina in mid-September last year after the woman had agreed to meet his ex-husband at a playground.
The woman started to run after a dispute but she ended up being stabbed.
The two children of the former partners were also present at the scene.
The prosecutor called for the court to sentence the man to life imprisonment, because the man, among other reasons, had already previously threatened to kill his ex-wife.
