The Espoo District Court on Tuesday sentenced a total of 20 accused persons to prison on charge of their involvement in narcotic crime.

The crime was apparently organised from the Helsinki Sörnäinen prison.

Three of the accused were handed 13 years imprisonment sentence while three others received twelve-and-a-half year’s prison sentence.

Two other accused were fully exonerated after the charges against them were dropped.

According to the court, more than 60 kilograms of hashish and amphetamine were trafficked inside the country.

The role of the Estonians in the narco-trafficking scam, according to the court, was to import the narcotics from the Netherlands to Finland and the subsequent hiding of the haul in Järvenpää, Vantaa, Espoo and Kirkkonummi.

One shipment was sent via postal mail and was intended to be picked by a Finn who either belonged to a member of the Bandidos Motorcycle Club or had ties with the Bandidos.

The defendants were also sentenced to pay 360,000 euros to the state.

The court also observed that the crime was not committed by the Bandidos Motorcycle Club.
