The Eastern Finland police has jailed five Estonians suspected in committing aggravated theft that took place in Savonlinna last December.
They are suspected of stealing metal worth 115,000 euros from a company yard in Punkaharju. The theft was carried out in the blanket of darkness.
The stolen load consisted of two desperate inter-changeable containers full of metal and 25 bundles of metal pipes.
The haulage of the load required the effort of three trucks. Soon afterwards, the cargo was shipped out of the country through forged freight documents.
Preliminary investigations have revealed the involvement of a dozen Estonians in the crime.
So far, some suspects have already been charged while rest are expected to be brought to books in the near future.
The stolen property is still missing.
