Sergei Lavrov of Russia will make the visit to Turku following an invitation of his Finland counterpart Erkki Tuomioja.
The meeting between the foreign ministers of the neighbouring countries is expected to focus on the situation in Ukraine and other current international issues, including relations between the EU and Russia, foreign ministry sources said.
The ministers will also discuss bilateral issues between Finland and Russia as well as regional cooperation.
During his visit Lavrov will also meet with the president, Sauli Niinistö, the press release added.
