FTimes-STT Report, June 12

The National Bureau of Investigation does not suspect that the law was breached in the 2011 firearm export deal to Bahrain.

The preliminary investigation examined the alleged irregularities concerning matters related to the military export licence issued to Sako Ltd, a Finnish firearm manufacturer.

Non-governmental organisations including the Amnesty International Finland chapter, the Committee of 100 in Finland and the Peace Union of Finland requested for an official investigation into the firearm export deal.

According to the bureau of investigation, there is no reason to believe that there was an attempt to cover up the deal or provide inaccurate information to the export licensing authorities.

The police also stated that their finding was reached after wide-scale investigations and interrogations.
