According to the newspaper report, members of senior defence force staff made 60 trips during their spare time.
The army guidelines stipulate that trips made by spouses of senior military officers are catered for if they are made on official visits.
The Defence Forces, however, do not pay for visits and accommodation outside official visits.
On the other hand, the newspaper pointed out that Defence Forces staff members could make trips if there was free space in the aircraft.
