FTimes-STT Report, June 14
The Helsinki District Court on Friday found a former supervisor of the Helsinki City Transport (HKL) construction department guilty of accepting bribe from the owner of a waste collection company.
The court maintained that fun-bowling and drinks that were offered by the waste collection company owner when the two were on an evening outing back in January 2009 was not related to regular business operations but instead a gesture of indebtedness.
The now retired supervisor was handed 40 day-fine totalling 1720 eoros while the waste company owner was given 20-day fine that is equivalent to 800 euros.
