At least five people were killed in separate accidents at different parts of the country during the celebrations of Juhannus (midsummer) on Friday night and Saturday, police and rescue department sources said.
 
Two people were killed in road accident on midsummer eve on Friday at South Savo while another motorcyclist was killed at Enonkoski on Saturday.
 
Police said that the speeding motor cycle met the accident when it was overtaking a number of cars on the highway and at a certain stage collided with a roadside rock.
 
The 47-year-old motorcyclist died on the spot. 
 
In another accident, a 30-year-old man was killed when his car fell into a forest in Mikkeli area.
 
A woman died by falling under a train in Järvenpää around midnight, said police.
