A man was drowned while swimming off the Ristikivi beach in Jyväskylä on Saturday night, sources at the Fire and Rescue Services said.

The people on the beach called the emergency services at 6.30pm after the swimmer sank below the surface.

Sources said Rescue Department divers recovered the swimmer’s body after a 15-minute search.
