The Ministry of Employment and the Economy has appointed the TE Office for North Ostrobothnia as the party responsible for the provision of general advisory, guidance and information services to foreign berry pickers in cooperation with various government authorities, said a press release of the ministry.

According to the press release, an email service responding to the queries of clients in Finnish, Swedish and English has been established for the advisory service. A specialist in labour administration appointed to the task will respond to queries submitted via email.

“We can expect questions on a wide range of topics, but income level and working conditions are likely to be among the most popular ones,” said Marjo Soppela, Specialist in Labour Administration from the TE Office for North Ostrobothnia.

“The questions will be answered during office hours and as quickly as possible,” she assured.
The advisory service is intended specifically for berry pickers.

Advisory and information services are also provided to entrepreneurs. One of the goals of the activities is to prevent problems before they arise.
