A man was stabbed to death early Tuesday night, said the police.
 
The 44-year-old man was stabbed in the neck inside an apartment in Oulu’s Meri-Toppia neighbourhood.
 
Paramedics tried to revive him, but to no avail.
 
The police arrested the victim’s 43-year-old wife and another man, both of whom were drunk.
 
The case is being investigated as murder.
 
Meanwhile, an elderly man met his death after being drowned while swimming in a river in Satakunta Town of Pomarkku.
 
The incident took place in the early evening of Tuesday. Emergency services were informed about the incident shortly before 6:00 PM.
 
The victim was retrieved from the river about five metres from the pier. The man did not survive, despite attempts to resuscitate him.
 
No witness was present during the incident, said the chief fire fighter on duty.
