One foreign student died in July in police custody, confirmed the East Uusimaa police.
 
The death of the Colombian student took place on the night between July 20 and 21. 
 
Death in police cells is very rare, said the police. Only a dozen such cases happen in the country every year.
 
The news of the Colombian student’s death was reported first by the MTV news. The news has received quite a media attention in Columbia, according to the MTV.
 
There is no suspicion of crime in the death. 
 
Earlier on July 28, a crime suspect died in police custody at Kouvola main police station.
 
The police arrested the 54-year-old man who took a blood test at about 8.00 PM and was later taken into custody.
 
The guards found him senseless a little before midnight and called for an ambulance, but he died.
