FTimes-STT Report, August 8

Three people were killed Thursday in two separate accidents in Jämsä and Liminka.

The police said two of them were run over by a train in Jämsä early in the morning.

The accident took place in between 3:00am and 5:00am.

The dead, two middle-aged men, were residents of Jämsä.

Railway traffic through the spot was halted on Thursday morning leading to delays. The train service returned to normalcy at nine o’clock.

The police are investigating the incident.

In the other accident, one person died when a bus collided head on with a private car in the afternoon at Liminka in north Ostrobothnia.

Several people were injured in the mishap that also involved a third vehicle. In all, 19 people were involved in the accident.

The accident happened when the bus was forced to evade a vehicle turning from the left. The personal car from the oncoming lane rammed straight under the bus, said the police.

A young lady who was riding in the private car suffered serious wounds in the accident and later succumbed to her injuries.
