A boy of 14 is suspected of attacking an 82-year-old woman with a hammer, said the police.
The incident took place on Monday in Kerava.
The boy allegedly hit the woman with a hammer inflicting injuries on the woman’s head and torso.
According to the police, the boy is said to have fled the scene and went to a nearby sport ground where he made a call to the emergency response centre.
The woman was helped by a bystander until the arrival of the ambulance. The woman was rushed to hospital.
The condition of the woman is stable, said the police, adding that the suspect was arrested and is now in the hands of healthcare authorities.
