A man was killed when his girlfriend allegedly attacked him with a sharp weapon in Putaa area of Tornio late Friday night.
The police arrested the woman on charge of murder.
The Lapland police said the incident took place when the woman stabbed her boyfriend with a kitchen knife in the chest as a sequel to a quarrel.
The man was taken to hospital in a critical condition where he succumbed to the injuries after three hours, said the police.
According to the police, the couple of fifties were together in the woman’s apartment in the locality and both of them had taken alcohol.
There was no one else in the apartment.
According to the police, the man was able to alert them to rescue him after the stabbing.
He was able to speak even when the hospital staff and the police went to the scene.
However, he died in the hospital about three hours later.
