The four-party alliance government weathered one more no-confidence motion in parliament by 97 votes for and 84 against on Tuesday.
 
Ten members of parliament from the Vihreä Liitö (Green Party) abstained from voting while eight legislators including ministers Susanna Huovinen, Erkki Tuomioja and Lenita Toivakka were absent.
 
The opposition parties took the government to task on the issues of inequality and livelihood of low-income people.

This is the second no-confidence motion tabled during the Alexander Stubb tenure.
 
The motion came after the opposition Persusuomalaiset (Finns Party) tabled an interpellation in parliament against the police reform project.
 
The governments led by Katainen and Stubb have faced 18 interpellations (16 during the Katainen government and two during the Stubb regime) in parliament so fat.
