By the end of August, the total number of asylum applications had reached 2,100, or 70 more than in last year.
The largest group of applicants is made of Irakis followed by Somalis and Ukrainians. Also, a sizeable number of asylum seekers have arrived from Afghanistan, Nigeria and Russia.
By the end of August, a total of 2,400 asylum decisions had been made, of which 1,300 were negative and 900 positive.
The applications took an average processing time of half a year, while the expedited procedures took a couple of months.
There are about 20 reception centres across the country including three in Helsinki.
