The protesters, who were mainly Kurds, burnt the ISIS flag and shouted slogans against the extremist organisation.

One protester, Selo Tosun, said he witnessed the atrocities committed by the extremist organisation in Turkey near its border with Syria in which old men and pregnant women were tortured.

“The terrible violence faced by women and children was the reason why I wanted to come to this protest. Rape, abduction and beheading. Terrible,” summed up Nesrin Yilmaz.
