The prosecution in a case has demanded that a police officer from the Käntä-Häme Police Department be fined because of breach of duty and crimes related to breach of personal register.

The case is related to an incident that took place in the summer of 2013 in Hauho in which the police officer is heard in a Youtube video of making threats to a young man.

The Kanta-Häme District Court heard the charges on Friday in which the policeman along with a colleague is accused of threatening to beat up the young man at midnight so that there would be no witnesses.

The officer made the threat because the young man had a row with his son.

The incident became public when a video clip of the threat was released on Youtube immediately after the incident where the police officer was found to threaten the youth.

Following the disclosure, an investigating team deposited the statement of the other policeman, who was in the patrol team along with the accused, and decided to proceed for the trial.

According to the prosecution, the policeman had also looked into the police register for personal data about the young man, although it was not part of his duties.

The policeman pleaded guilty during the pre-trial investigation. The court will give the judgement on October 17.
