Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper on Thursday met with visiting Finnish President Sauli Niinistö, discussing a host of issues including the situation in Ukraine, terrorist threat posed by the Islamic State and more cooperation on issues related to the Arctic.
     
Niinistö arrived here Thursday for a two-day state visit to Canada, according to the office of the Canadian prime minister.
     
Prime Minister Harper and President Niinistö also hailed the conclusion of negotiations on the Canada-European Union Trade Agreement, saying that once ratified and implemented, the agreement would allow for increased trade opportunities for Canadian and Finnish businesses.
