The weather conditions especially in Central Finland were so unfavourable on Sunday and it was not possible for summer tires to cope with such kind of weather according to Jarmo Nuora, the Chair of Autonrengasliittory - Tyre Specialists of Finland.
Winter tires must be used in December, January and February. Studded tires can be used in the beginning of November or when weather conditions permits. The use of unstudded winter tires has no limitations.
To avoid surprises, Nuora advises motorists to become proactive. Nuora pointed out that Finland is a vast country and even in the south the freezing weather is on the way.
Nuora also urged motorists to take care of tire conditions during the long and demanding driving season. Taking care of tire condition is emphasised during the demanding and rapidly changing weather conditions.
