The Vihreä Liito (Green League) will participate in voting during Friday’s no confidence motion on government after a joint interpellation by opposition Suomen Keskusta (Centre Party) and Perussuomalaiset (Finns Party) is concluded.

Green Party Chair Ville Niinistö and Chair of the party’s parliamentary group Outi Alanko-Kahiluoto said that the issue has not yet been discussed as a group and that the Greens do not have a group-discipline.

Niinistö finally admitted that if the issue is interesting, the Greens will vote for the motion.

The major opposition parties, the Centre Party and the Finns Party, will on Wednesday take the treasury bench to task on the economic situation in the country.

The voting is expected to be tight since the government has a narrow majority in parliament.

The Greens, who quit the government, did not take part in voting during the last no confidence motion on the government.
