President Sauli Niinistö, in an interview with a British newspaper, The Guardian, said Finland is very determined to show Russia what it does not like, and where the boundary lies.

The president was referring to a recent streak of airspace violations in the Finnish airspace. In the interview, the president said Finland sent Hornets to the airspace and the Russian planes turned back.

The president, however, did not speculate on what would have happened, if the Russians would not have turned back.

Niinistö emphasised that Finland has a long tradition of trying to maintain good relations with Russia.

Niinistö will meet British Prime Minister David Cameron as well as leaders of the Nordic and Baltic countries during the Northern Future Forum that will be held in Helsinki on Thursday and Friday.
