The police said that the 35-year-old man killed himself after shooting at a 44-year-old woman. The woman was seriously injured and sent to hospital for treatment.

Police found the man dead with a heavy-duty pistol next to him.

A moment before the shooting, the suspect sent a 6-page letter to numerous media. The letter said that the relationship problems with the woman and jealousy led to the shooting, according to Pertti Laksy, Detective Chief Inspector at Salo police department.

Laksy said that the gun the man used belongs to one of his close relatives, but was taken without permission, and the relative did not even notice the disappearance of the weapon.

The injured woman is still in the hospital, but her life is not in danger at the moment, according to media reports.
