Two persons were burnt to death in separate incidents of fire that broke out in  Janakkala and Kouvola on Sunday and late Saturday night, Fire Services and rescue department sources said.

A man perished in fire in Janakkala on Sunday morning.

The rescue services received alarm at 8:30 am and rushed to the house located in  Kontiotie  neighbourhood of Janakkala.

The victim, a man past the middle age was reportedly the only person in the house.

The Kanta-Häme Rescue Department could not yet establish the reason behind the origin of the fire.

The chief fire fighter Pasi Lamminaho termed the nature of the work as very challenging since it was an old house with sawdust insulation.

In another incident at Kouvola on Saturday night, one person died in a fire that started from a room in a terraced house located in  Paavolanhaantie.

The rescue services received alarm shortly before midnight. The rescue personnel managed to get one person out of the house but he died despite attempts to resuscitate.

The fire was extinguished and damage was limited to only one room of the house.
