A man along with his son drowned in ice while riding on a tractor in Ala Siikajärvi, a lake located in the Juankoski-Kuopio border, on Saturday afternoon.
Divers found the body of the 10-year-old boy in the cabin of the tractor. The body of his father, a man born in the 1970s, was, however, not found.
The search for the boy’s father continued on Sunday.
The tractor was found lying on its side about five metres deep in the lake.
Shortly before 3:00pm, the emergency response centre received an alarm that a gaping hole had been spotted at the end of the tractor’s track.
The scene of the accident was approximately half a kilometre from the lake’s shore.
