At least 25 people including 11 women were killed and 633 others injured in road traffic accidents in December last year.
 
A total of 479 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in the month, according to preliminary data of Statistics Finland.  
 
The number of persons killed was seven higher and that of persons injured 76 higher than in December 2013.

Of the persons who were killed, 16 travelled by passenger cars and one by van, the data show.
 
 
A total of 5,286 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in the January to December period. In them, 223 persons were killed and 6,669 persons injured.
