The police believed the gang, which consists of about 50 people, has imported a total of 45,000 tablets of ecstasy to Finland in the past two years, Finnish daily Helsinki Sanomat reported. The gang is also suspected of trading cocaine, amphetamines and marijuana, according to Heikki Miettinen, Detective Inspector at the Helsinki Police Department. Most of the suspects aged between 18 and 30, and most of them are Iraqi citizens, according to Miettinen. The alleged drug dealers traveled from Finland to Sweden by ferry, then via Denmark to Holland, where drugs were acquired, he added. The police officer also revealed that ecstasy market in Helsinki has been almost entirely controlled by the gang. He said the drugs were brought particularly to nightclubs in downtown Helsinki and the nearby region, and then distributed to other parts of Finland. More News
