The central themes of the party’s election manifesto are centred on environment, employment, poverty, and education.
Green Party Chair Ville Niinistö said the Greens do not believe that in difficult times, all have to suffer.
Instead of cuts, the Greens want to focus on safeguarding education.
“We want to reform the Finnish public sector to make such kind of structures so that services would be more flexible for people and reform the economy so that we put domestic bio-economy and renewable energy in use,” said Niinistö upon the release of the election manifesto in Helsinki.
According to Niinistö, the public sector could be enhanced through structural reforms. However, the Greens do not want to weaken service levels through direct cuts.
