In total, there are approximately seven million Visa cards in use in the country used over a billion times in the past year.
Compared to 2013, the number of card payments increased last year.
According to the report, Finns also use more card payments for small purchases compared to the European average.
The average card payment in Finland was 29.50 euros, whereas for the rest of Europe the corresponding figure was 48 euros.
According to the report’s estimates, payments are expected to change radically as mobile payments and digital commerce become more common.
Similarly, it is believed that consumers will be more willing to try new methods of payments, such as e-commerce services and through using mobile applications.
