The amount of Salmon fishes caught from the Teno River has increased in 2014 compared to the previous year.
According to the Natural Resources Institute Finland, the total salmon catch rose to about 99 tonnes. Compared to 2013 and the total catch increased by 25 percent.
Salmon catch on the Finnish side was more than 54 tonnes, while in the Norwegian region side salmon catch was more than 44 tonnes.
The increase of salmon catch on the Finnish side grew by a quarter as well, and was equivalent to the long-term average catch.
On the Finnish side, salmon catch was shared almost equally between the local fishermen and fishing tourists.
Fishing tourists' salmon catch share on the Norwegian side was only about three tonnes.
