Denmark boasts the world’s fastest internet connection.
The country’s data transfer rate is at 11.3 Mbit/s. The connection speed has immensely advanced within a few years, pointed out Professor Jukka Manner, leader of the Netradar project at Aalto University.
The average data transfer rate in 2012 was 2.8 Mbit/s while last year it was 11.2 Mbit/s, reveals Manner.
Manner points to the development of 4G networks as the main reason for the improved download speed.
Netradar is a free mobile application for analyzing the quality of mobile connections and devices.
The Netradar app has been installed more than 200,000 times in over 6,000 device models across different parts of the world. The database presently holds over five million measurements from around the world.
Behind Denmark, Singapore, Switzerland, Norway and Korea are the other countries which occupy the top five slots of fast mobile internet connections.
