Environmental group WWF (World Wildlife Federation) celebrated its biggest Earth Hour ever this year with 172 countries participating and the lights going out for an hour in over 1400 famous landmarks such as Paris's Eiffel Tower, the Empire State Building, the UN Headquarters and the Kremlin in Moscow.
 
In Finland, more than 30,000 people registered for the event. National landmarks included the Helsinki Cathedral, the Finlandia Hall, the Olympic Stadium tower and Tampere Hall.
