The forthcoming April 19 parliamentary elections will soon start to reflect properly in the street scenario as election posters start to appear.

Television advertisements by the major political parties will begin to be broadcast in the coming days.

Election advertising may prove to be decisive in the coming days, since the number of undecided voters has soared as the elections near.

According to the most recent Taloustutkimus poll commissioned by the national broadcaster YLE, 43 per cent of voters are not yet decided which party they will support in the elections.

The party secretary of Suomen Keskusta (Centre Party), Timo Laaninen, said the large number of undecided voters means that a very significant change is still possible.

Centre Party’s election campaign advert running under the slogan “For a better Finland” will hit television screens this Sunday. Finns will be exposed to the advertisement three and a half times on average, said the party office.

Similarly, the Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party) publicised its election advertisement on Wednesday. Running under the banner “Through employment”, the party candidates in the advertisements promise to work to promote employment.
