Stubb was chosen to lead the Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party) succeeding Jyrki Katainen as both the chair of Kokoomus and the Prime Minister.
"In many ways it has been a tough four years for my party and myself. We have been bound by shackles coming from the left," Stubb is quoted as saying in the interview.
Stubb said that he inherited a very difficult situation both politically and economically.
Kokoomus’ popularity has dropped during Stubb's stint and the party's support in the most recent survey was around 16 percent.
