The Ministry of Finance has filed a report to the police about leakage of a document regarding economic situation in Greece to the Finnish language daily Helsingin Sanomat.
The investigation relate to a report based on a secret memo and run by Helsingin Sanomat on Thursday.
The Ministry of Finance will not conduct an internal inquiry and will leave it to the police to do the investigation.
According to the ministry, the leaking of the issues contained in the memo to the public includes the risks of substantial market effects.
Furthermore, it undermines Finland's position as a reliable negotiating partner in the euro crisis negotiations, said the Ministry.
