Advance voting continued over the weekend at a good pace with the percentage of early voters reaching 18.8, compared to 17.6 during the stipulated period of the last election.
Sunday saw a turnout comparable to that of the previous election as slightly less than 90,000 voters went to the ballot boxes on the day. In the last election, the number was closer to 91,000 on the Sunday.
In all other previous days the numbers of voters has, however, risen compared to the last election, and in all, almost 800,000 citizens have turned out. Traditionally, the polling places see more women turn up than men.
Advance votes can be cast in Finland until Tuesday. The national elections will be held across the country from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm on April 19 to elect 200 parliament members for the next four years.
There are over 900 designated general polling stations in the country where advance voting is taking place.
