HuSArctic hosted at the Northern Institute for Environmental and Minority Law in the Arctic Centre of the University of Lapland will hold its Kick-Off meeting and a seminar on April 13 and 14, 2015 respectively, said a press release.
HuSArctic (Human Security as a promotional tool for societal security in the Arctic: Addressing Multiple Vulnerability to its Population with Specific Reference to the Barents Region) is a research project funded by the Academy of Finland.
A number of research partners from Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Norway and the UK are attending in the events.
The Kick-Off meeting is restricted to only the project participants and invited guests while the seminar on April 14, 2015 is open for all.
The seminar titled "Human security and Societal Sustainability" on April 14 will be a half-day event where invited guest speakers will give their presentations.
The seminar is open for students, scholars and all others interested. Admission to the seminar is free of charge.
