The parking fines are scheduled to be raised in seven municipalities starting 15th May.
 
The parking tickets will be raised in according to proposals forwarded by the municipalities of Hyvinkää, Kauniainen, Kemi, Oulu, Tornio, Tuusula and Varkaus.
 
The parking tickets can be increased as a result of decree from the interior ministry. The reason could be due to, for instance, volume of traffic, lack of parking spaces or smooth flow of traffic.
 
The proposal of the hike will be suggested by the municipality. Afterwards, the ministry will request a statement from the police and finally will issue a decree.
 
The parking ticket is set to rise to 60 euros in Kauniainen, 40 euros in Tuusula, 40 euros in Kemi, 50 euros in Oulu and 60 euros in Zone 1, 40 euros in Tornio and 40 euros in Varkaus.
