A steering group set up by the Ministry of Justice, has proposed that political parties other than the parties who have seats in the parliament be eligible for party aid.

The prerequisite for receiving the aid stipulates that the party should have received at least two percent of the cast votes in the past elections.

The law should also be amended in such a way that the parties which are beneficiaries of the aid should not be removed from the register of parties even if the parties fail to get a single seat in the parliament in two consecutive parliamentary elections.

The reform is aimed at safeguarding the operation conditions of political parties which missed parliamentary seats in the elections.
