A number of issues have been identified with the new police website, reported the Finnish language newspaper Savon Sanomat.

For example, there is incorrect contact information, and some parts of the website are in Swedish language only.

The problems are especially apparent to mobile users. The site has also attracted a number of malicious attacks and has gone down repeatedly due to DDOS (distributed denial-of-service) attacks.

The site has been running for several weeks, but the system still has 10-15 open service requests. It is unclear when they will be addressed.

The incorrect information has not yet resulted in any known damage, but the situation has caused both the citizens and police to question why, unlike other government websites, the police site was not thoroughly tested before being opened for general use.

The new police website was launched in March. The site is supposed to facilitate civilian problems and offer police contact information for non-urgent matters.
