Tue, 05 May, 2015 12:06:01 AM FTimes – STT Report, May 5 Detailed of the notifications sent to the reservists. Photo Lehtikuva. Delivery of the first batch of reservists’ notifications has begun on Monday.
The letter describes the recipient’s wartime role and to what unit he or she is assigned. There are three different models of letters going out.
The recipient may be assigned to a mission during war time or be reserved for an employer’s services or he or she may be conscripted into the reserves.
The Defence Forces Chief of Operations Lieutenant General Mika Peltonen expects a high response rate this year, because the recipients tend to answer the letters. If the information posted is correct, there is no need to reply.
“The reserve soldiers can, though, with just a little effort, change their placement,” Peltonen said.
Peltonen offered a few examples where reserve military service should change due to education. If a soldier is placed in an infantry division after his training but has then studied to be a doctor, his wartime position is likely to be changed.

“The percentage is reduced in older age group, as their focus is mainly on running the society,” said Commander Taneli Uosukainen.
The letters will be sent to 900,000 reservists. The military recommends that any personal information in the letter not be displayed or distributed, for example, through social media.
All the letters should be received by the end of May.
